Education Requirements
Contractors certified by the PCCLB are required to submit proof of 14 hours of continuing education in every odd-numbered year to renew their license.
We made changes in 2025 to align with the continuing education requirements of the State of Florida. Click here for the continuing ed requirements specific to your trade .
A list of approved continuing education courses and providers is published online:
- Construction Industry Continuing Education Providers / Courses
- Electrical Contractors' Continuing Education Providers / Courses
Proof of continuing education meeting the requirements above must be submitted before your license can be renewed. Renewal deadline: September 30, 2025.
New contractor licenses issued to Pinellas County certified contractors after January 1 in a year in which continuing education is required will not be required to produce proof of continuing education in that renewal year.
Note: the PCCLB will not renew licenses for contractors performing marine pile driving, dock and seawall construction, jetty or breakwater, dike, or revetment construction without proof of USL&H coverage and/or workers' compensation coverage with class code 6006F.
